Can I place a dumpster in the street in Morrow?

Can I place a dumpster in the street in Morrow?

What is allowed?

Renting a dumpster for medium to large home clean-outs and other projects is an excellent idea. We are very flexible about where we set our dumpsters, however, we still must comply with city, county and state laws. If the driveway is large enough we can almost always place a dumpster on private driveways, and parking areas. Some cities or counties will allow dumpsters to be placed on a curb or in city streets either with or without a permit, however, there are some that do not allow dumpsters to be placed anywhere besides private property.

What is not allowed?

The city of Morrow does not allow dumpsters to be placed on any public property. This is to keep its citizens safe. When dumpsters are placed on streets they can become a hazard by creating blind spots.  Keeping dumpsters on private property also helps to prevent unlawful dumping. Although unlawful dumping may not seem like an issue to the city it can become an issue to the person who has rented the dumpster. When there are restricted items in the dumpster the renter could be charged additional fees and may be forced to dispose of the item(s) separately.

Where can I find more information?

For more information please contact the Morrow Public Works office located at 6311 C Murphy Dr. Morrow, GA  770-968-5497.

Easter

WHAT IS EASTER?
Easter is a holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ in the Christian religion. According to the New Testament of the Bible, the event occurred three days after Jesus was crucified by the Romans and died in or around 30 A.D. The holiday concludes "The Passion of The Christ", a series of events and holidays that begin with lent. Lent is a 40-day period of fasting, sacrifice and prayer. The 40 day period ends with Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Although this holiday is of high religious significance in the Christian faith, several traditions associated with Easter date back to pagan times.

WHEN IS EASTER?
Easter 2019 is April 21. However, every year the holiday falls on a different day.  Easter Sunday is a holiday, among others, that is considered a "movable feast". Easter always falls on a Sunday between March 22nd and April 25th.

GOOD FRIDAY
The resurrection of Jesus is essentially the foundation of the Christian religion. According to the New Testament, Jesus was arrested by the Romans because he claimed to be the "Son of God". The arrest was motivated by Romans viewing Jesus as a threat to their empire. Jesus was sentenced to death by Pontius Pilate. This day is recognized as "Good Friday" as His resurrection three days later proved that He was the Son of God.

PASSOVER
Passover is a Jewish holiday, often associated with Easter. Their connection is seen in The Last Supper, which occurred the night before Jesus was arrested and persecuted. The Last Supper was essentially a feat. The New Testament identifies the bread as His body and the wine as His blood. These rituals would one day symbolize the sacrifice that the Son of God was about to make in His death, becoming the basic ritual for the Holy Communion.

EASTER EGGS
Egg decorating may have become a tradition on the celebration of Easter in a nod to the religious significance of Easter, Jesus' resurrection or "re-birth".

EASTER BUNNY
The exact origins of the Easter Bunny are unknown, however, some believe it arrived in America with immigrants from Germany in the 1700s. Rabbits are, in many cultures, known as enthusiastic pro creators, so the arrival of baby bunnies in springtime became associated with birth and renewal, another link to the resurrection of Jesus.

EASTER DINNER
The historical Easter dinner-LAMB. Lamb was often used as a sacrifice animal in Jewish traditions and it frequently served during Passover. The phrase "Lamb of God" is used to refer to Jesus and the sacrificial nature of his death.

How do I find dumpster rental near me?

How Can I Find a Local Dumpster Rental Company in Atlanta

If you have never rented a dumpster before or even if you have rented a dumpster before, you probably though, how do I find a dumpster rental near me?  It can be hard to find out what companies are local when it seems that everyone one you call is not located in your area.  In fact, most dumpster rental companies are not local or are not even a dumpster company, but a broker. Brokers simply take your order, find the cheapest person to do the job, mark it up, and then the 3rd party brings you the dumpster rental.

Separating Local Dumpster Companies From Brokers & National Companies

The big companies and brokers are the most expensive dumpster rentals.  The big companies have brand recognition,  love to go for after the big contractors, and are regional.  Sometimes the big guys will team up with broker to create a perfect mistake!

Brokers simply run adds and market their company as the source, but when they actually just find a local guy to do the work and add an significant amount of money to the cost!  They are a 3rd party company.

Using a local dumpster rental company will not only save you money, but you will also get a true idea of all the cost (no confusion), better service (less layers), faster service, and less fees (pre and post).  How do you find the dumpster rental "near me"?  For one visit their website and look for the following:  address, local phone number, see where their reviews are coming form, and look for social media linksSocial media can tell you a lot about where a company is located, too!  Another great place to look in google maps.  Maps will search by your IP address and list companies near you, but sometimes brokers will have listing in your area.  A local listing should look something like this.

Another indicator is look at the company name. If it is a blanket or general name; ie Budget Dumpster, Local Dumpster, Cheap Dumpster, Easy Dumpster, Quick Dumpster, etc it is strong indication that they are a broker.

Landfills and transfer stations are a good place to call and find out who the local guys are, too!

The simplest and quickest way to find out where the dumpster rental company is located is to ask them; this way you know for sure where they are.

Brokers and regional dumpster rental companies try to avoid letting you know that they are not local.  Brokers also try to avoid you figuring out that what they really are, a third party or subcontractor.  Remember, these guys are significantly more expensive, too!

Brokers are notorious for additional charges.  Read some of the great reviews:

"A few days later they charged me additional 44 dollar for who know what. Looking at the reviews, it seems to be quite common in their practice.
Lesson: if they claim to be the cheapest, they will charge you afterwards." Nataliya L.

"They give a very great competitive price and then a week later charges an additional $109.50." Pnoemi

"This is not even a dumpster company. This is a third party referral service .
They only get the business and then they call a local dumpster company." Mike R

If you are located in Atlanta, Marietta, Roswell, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Brookhaven, Chamblee, Kennesaw, Acworth, Dallas, Hiram, Douglasville, Villa Rica, Mableton, Smyrna, Powder Springs, Atlanta, Decatur, Buckhead, East Point, College Park, Union City, Fairburn, Peachtree City, Newnan, Carrollton, Lithia Springs, or any part of metro Atlanta you can the dumpster rental "near me" company; Bin There Dump That.  We are the only company designed around residential use.  We provide clean dumpsters, 100% driveway protection, post job clean up, and double doors for easy walk in loading.

Difference between a front load dumpster & roll off dumpster rental?

A dumpster is a dumpster, right?  No, there are 2 basic types of dumpsters that can be rented.  A Roll off dumpster and front load dumpster.  A roll off dumpster is generally what you see at a construction site, residential location, or being used by someone moving.  A front load dumpster is generally what you see behind a business, shopping center, restaurant, or commercial facility.

Roll off dumpsters are commonly referred to as a open top dumpster, roll-off dumpster, construction dumpster, rental dumpster, bin, or simply a dumpster. These are general on a short term rental and is only needed 1 or couple of times. All roll off type dumpsters have an open top and usually one door.  The design of these dumpsters will vary, but most are longer than taller and hauled on a large CDL truck.  The two most common types of lifts that roll off dumpsters use are either a hook lift or a winch cable. Hook style lifts have become more common and have less issues.

Front loading dumpster are usually long terms rentals and are tied with a contract.  These are the type of dumpsters you would see behind a shopping center, restaurant, or business complex. Most governments require them if food waste is going to be disposed off, because they are seal at the base and do not let water out; unlike the roll off dumpster.  Also, governments require front loading dumpster to have lid to prevent rain from filling them and to keep animals out of food waste. The design is taller to take up less room, usually have 1 or 2 sliding doors to load trash, lids, and seal water tight around the base.  Unlike roll off dumpsters, front load dumpster are not hauled away every time they are emptied. A large compactor truck with a forklift style lift.  Then they pick up it up and tip it upside down into the back of the truck.  It is very similar to how weekly trash pick up is done.

Lets review the differences of the two dumpster types.

Front load dumpster vs roll off dumpster rental

Roll Off Dumpster
Front Load Dumpster
Commonly referred to as: roll-off dumpster, open top dumpster, construction dumpster, dump bin, or dumpster
Commonly referred to as: front load dumpster or dumpster
Short to medium term rental
Long term & usually comes w/ a contract
Used for construction, house clean out, remodeling, or moving
Used in commercial settings. Apartment complexes, business, restaurants, or shopping centers
Not a watertight seal around bottom
Watertight at bottom
Brought to landfill or transfer station to empty
Is emptied into a truck onsite.
No lids
Lids installed
Has walkin capabilities
Can not walkin
Long and short
Tall and narrow

So to make it simple. If you are doing a construction job, remodel, moving, cleaning out, or building you need a roll off dumpster.  If you need a dumpster for your business you need a front load dumpster.  Remember if you need a roll off rental dumpster you can all check us out on the web at www.atlantadumpsterrentals.net or https://www.mariettadumpsterrental.net.

How do I get rid of old vehicle tires?

Your weekly trash service will not take tires and most disposal facilities don't accept them. This makes them one of the hardest items to dispose of and why the are constantly littered along the road and vacant lots.

Scrap tires are a major health concern.  Trapped water is a perfect breeding ground for mosquitoes and can increase their reproduction rate up to 100%!  Also, decomposing tires release hazardous chemicals and gases. If they burn they release toxic chemicals and gases.

I remember as a teen in 1995 a tire fire about 30 miles from my house.  We could see the thick black smoke and debris falling from the sky for a week.  Here is a video of the fire: FIRE. This burned for a about a week above ground  and months below ground.  It is estimated to have burned up to 6 million tires!  EPA decided to let the tires burn vs putting out the fire because of the chemicals the tires release while burn would run in the water supplies.

Although, they seem difficult to dispose of, they are not.  Just about every store (Walmart, Firestone, NTB, etc) that install tires will accept used tires for a fee and there is probably a limit.  Some transfer stations or landfill might accept them, but they cannot place them in the ground because it is illegal.  Tires must be recycled in the state of Georgia and you have to store them inside.

Recycled tire are used for many different things: mulch, playground bedding, roads, roofing, fuel, recapped & reused, artificial reefs, clothing, etc

Another option is to re-purpose the tires.  Simply google used tire uses and you can stay busy all day.  Some of my favorite are:

  • Shooting barrier or shooting house.  The military love building house out of tires to train for urban operations. *note the tires must be filled with dirt.
0c08b24f50ea5744f99de05428c2693b.jpg

  • Potato garden.  Simply start with one tire and as plant grows add another tire  on top with soil.  Continue this till it is time to harvest. Then simply unstack them and grab your potatoes. If you have ever had to dig up potatoes you will know why this is a great idea
tire potatoe.jpg

  • Then there is everyone's favorite.  The tire swing.  No  explanation needed.

Did you know at every tire you buy has a tax on it for scrap tire abatement?

We, Bin There Dump That Atlanta, can haul and dispose of tires in certain locations. Just call  us find out if we can help you.
